As seen at the field day in Ngo Xa Primary School, put on by Concordia International School Hanoi

We left the house this morning with a little spring in our step, perhaps
because it was Monday of a holiday week, but as soon as we stepped outside
door we heard it. That sound. Unmistakable in a country that is
constantly under construction. The jackhammer. Sure, enough, as we
stepped outside the gate, we saw that they were completely tearing up the
road. The entire alleyway leading to our house was completely blocked off
to bicycles, motos, and cars. Nothing in or out.

There was no announcement about the construction (or perhaps our landlord
failed to tell us!). This will make for a difficult couple days.
Fortunately, we are leaving Wednesday for a few days away as a family, but
we were supposed to go by car. Unfortunately, now we are not so sure that
the car can get in or out, and we have nowhere to park it (there is VERY
limited parking in Hanoi). Hmm…what to do?

I am sure we will figure something out. All things are possible in
Vietnam.
